I have two young daughters (3 and 4 years old) and we love to read. We cuddle up on the couch or in bed and read at least 4 or 5 books together a day. I always try to pick out books that have a good lesson behind them and teach my girls something (although we like to have fun too!). Normal Norman is ridiculously funny – and still teaches a great lesson to little ones – be yourself. The book tries to define the word normal, but we all know there is no way to really define it. Every one has their own “normal” self. What a great lesson to teach your kids! Both my girls are a little kooky and like to do things outside of the box now and then and I LOVE THAT! We need to be supportive of our children and help them learn that it is OK to be different, in fact, it is encouraged. Purchase Normal Norman here.
What is “normal?” That’s the question an eager young scientist, narrating her very first book, hopes to answer. Unfortunately, her exceedingly “normal” subject—an orangutan named Norman—turns out to be exceptionally strange. He speaks English, sleeps in a bed, loves his stuffed toy, goes bananas over pizza, and even deep-sea dives! Oh, no: what’s a “normal” scientist to do? A humorous look at the wackiness that makes us all special— and a gentle reminder that “normal” can’t ever be defined!
