Who doesn’t love to purchase something that gives back? I know I do! I am always looking for Fair Trade items, companies that give to charity, and items where a portion of proceeds go to charity. I was thrilled to discover The CAUSEBOX by Sevenly because they do so much for many different charities around the world! For each purchase made on their website, Sevenly gives $7 to charity – they have raised over 4 million dollars in the last 3 years! That is huge! They help fight many things like sex-trafficking and child bullying. They also provide medical support for the underprivileged – and that is just the tip of the iceberg!
Last December, Sevenly launched The CAUSEBOX, which is a seasonal box filled with socially conscious goods. That means that each of the individual products give back on their own – think TOMS shoes, Tribe-Alive, etc. A significant portion (7%) from each box sold goes right to charity. They help provide jobs and sustainable income in underdeveloped areas of the world. Truly amazing. These boxes have a minimum value of $150 and will only cost you $49.95! So right there, you are paying only one third of what you are receiving. And honestly, you cannot put a price on giving back and how it makes you feel! One of the things I love about this is that if you have a specific charitable organization that you wish to support, there is a list of charity partners that you can choose from! You will also be notified of the use of your funds if you allow Sevenly to make the selection for you. Their first box was a huge success and over $3,500 went to support the Jessie Rees Foundation which provides joy and hope for children who have been diagnosed with cancer.
I was lucky enough to receive one of their second boxes – which are limited in number – and wow is all that I can say! So many amazing items were in this box. The items included were: Denik “Be The Change” Journal, Tribe-Alive Bracelet, Perf Turkish Towel, “Good Day” Sevenly Cling, Half United “Fighting Hunger” Necklace, Smarty Pants Vitamins, and Good Spread Peanut Butter & Honey Packet (sample). I love everything but the towel and bracelet really stood out to me. The towel is flat woven in Turkey, highly absorbent, fast-drying, and are super soft! I also love that 15% of Perf’s profits go to community development projects in Haiti. The Tribe-Alive bracelet will go with any outfit – casual or dressy – and is handmade by women in Honduras under fair trade working conditions. The collaboration between Sevenly and Tribe-Alive for these bracelets helped provide 20 women jobs in Honduras! As for the Denik Journal, a protion from every notebook they sell goes toward funding schools in developing countries through amazing foundations like Pencils and Promise. The Half United Necklace is beautiful and I love showing it off. Half United donates 50% of their profits to fight against hunger! that is HUGE!
