We have been to Disney on Ice many times. We are a Disney family and love all things about it. Disney shows transport us to a magical place where we can forget the stress of real life the second it starts. Our experience was not different last night – however, there was one part that will always stay in my mind, and I will remember it forever.
As you probably know if you come to my blog regularly, we are a Disney family. Whenever there is a Disney event in town, we are there. From Disney on Ice, to Disney Live, to events at our local Disney Store – you can always count on the Smith’s to be there ready to have some fun. Disney Live: Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Doorway was just in town, and we were lucky enough to go. I knew that the whole family would have a good time, because you can’t go wrong with Disney but I had no idea just how much fun.

My 5 year old daughter is really into music. She tells us that music class is her favorite class in Kindergarten. Because of this, we know that taking her to Symphoria CNY’s Halloween Spooktacular would be the highlight of her Halloween – and we were right! Our 3 year old really enjoyed it as well, and of course so did my husband and myself.
Symphoria, the world-class symphony orchestra in Central New York, announced that single tickets are on sale for its 2016-17 season. The current season has sold out 10 out of 21 concerts to date, with six performances remaining, one of which is almost at capacity. Symphoria’s fourth full season is expected to be an “Experience Beyond Measure” with more venues and variety, including 27 concerts in five performance series: Masterworks, Casual, Pops, Spark and Kids. The season includes more concert performance times, stars such as multiplatinum-selling vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway, Cherish the Ladies, the return of cirque performers, music of famous movie superheroes and villains, collaborations with local singing and dancing groups, and more.
Yesterday my family and I decided to check out the Paw Patrol Roll Patrol Road Tour at the Great New York State Fair. When we got there, the line looked really long – like, REALLY long – but we got in line anyways since this was the thing my girls wanted to check out at the fair. We went last weekend because we knew most of the day would be spent on Paw Patrol this time. We ended up waiting about 3.5 hours in line to enter Adventure Bay. Was this all worth it? Find out here.
We love going to the Great New York State Fair every year. It is something that our family looks forward to all year long. We usually go at least one or two days – and have so much fun! This year, the fairgrounds had been improved and WOW – the place looks great! I just love the main gates now – gorgeous! If you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram, I am sure you saw my stories as I was there this past weekend. Planning a trip to the fair for the first time can be overwhelming. Even if you have been, you can easily miss some great stuff because there is so much to see and do. No matter what you check out, you are sure to have a blast, but here are my 3 things that I don’t think anyone should skip. They are fun for the whole family and things that we come back to year after year.
Since we moved to upstate New York 3 years ago, it has been tradition to go to the Great New York State Fair. We have been three years in a row and this year will mark our fourth. My family knows that it will be a good time, and my young daughters look forward to it. Check out my kid friendly favorites and my guide to the NYSF food if you are heading there this year. This year, the Great New York State Fair is joining forces with Paw Patrol! When I saw this, I just knew my daughters would flip out – they love that show!
Recently I took my whole family to Hersheypark for a weekend. We live in Upstate New York so it is not that long a drive (about 5 hours) and we were all really excited to go! My husband grew up in New York and so he had been there with his family when he was younger but not recently. Myself and our young daughters had never been – but had heard great things. We spent our entire Saturday in the park and had more fun than we ever imagined.
