I have two young daughters and am always looking for fun and unique gifts for them. My husband and I have used Put Me In The Story to create some pretty amazing personalized books for them in the past. They always love getting them and reading their names, as well as seeing photos of them, in these books. I have a few personalized books from when I was a young girl that my parents made me and they are some of my favorite memories from growing up. They mean a lot to me and I am hoping that these will mean a lot to my daughters when they get older as well.
Last year I went on a Disney Cruise with my daughters and my mom. It was a short 3 days cruise but we had a blast. After talking to my husband about it, we decided to book a 7 day cruise – and we actually did this while I was still on board the Disney Dream. For us, the 3 day was such a tease – we wanted more! So I went in to the 7 day knowing that it would be a ton of fun, but I didn’t know how much I still wouldn’t want to leave after a week out at sea.
My husband and I love to take my girls to see movies in the theater. We try to go once a month because we always have so much fun. It is a great bonding experience as a family and my daughters just love it. We recently went to see Sing in theaters and it was one of our favorite movies ever! So when we were offered a chance to throw a Sing party to celebrate the Blu-ray and DVD release – we jumped at it! This movie comes home TODAY (March 21) and I could not recommend it anymore! It is truly fun for the whole family! We loved watching all of the awesome bonus features as well – and honestly, this disc was packed full of them!
My daughters are huge Kate & Mim-Mim fans. I cannot tell you how many times I have caught them spinning around in circles with their stuffed Mim-Mim singing “Kate and Mim-Mim, me and you, let’s sail away to Mimiloo!”. It is honestly adorable and I just want to freeze them in that moment so that they never grow up. My youngest got a Kate doll for Christmas this past year and she has been carrying it around ever since. We have several Kate & Mim-Mim DVDs and were really excited to learn about the release of the newest one, Musical Mimiloo.
My girls and I both love to play mobile games. They are a great way to pass the time while waiting at restaurants or even in line at theme parks! They love all things Barbie so they were thrilled to hear about a new game, Barbie Sparkle Blast! It is free-to-play on the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and on Google Play for Android devices. The launch of Barbie Sparkle Blast coincides with Barbie’s 58th birthday, providing players of all ages with a new way to engage with the iconic toy brand. All of us have loved playing this game – even my husband, but shhh don’t tell anyone.
Mickey and the Roadster Racers was an immediate hit for my young daughters. I knew that it would be after I was lucky enough to screen the first episodes and chat with the Executive Producers during the #MickeyRacersEvent! Fun fact: the debut was the #1 cable TV telecast in over one year among Kids 2-5 and Boys 2-5 – which does not surprise me at all. The show is genius! We were thrilled to receive some amazing gifts from Disney which included a whole new line of toys to support the show! My daughters were beyond excited (just watch our unboxing video if you don’t believe me!). These toys have brought hours and hours of fun to our home already – and I know there will be many more where that came from!
Last month I posted about the amazing Snoopy and Belle in Fashion exhibit along with my interview with Jill Schulz. Well, one of my favorite companies, Hanna Andersson, created some adorable PJs for the Denver debut of it! I was super excited when I was told that because I am a Peanuts Ambassador, I was going to be able to do some shopping online for items for my girls. That task proved to actually be really difficult as there were numerous items that I wanted for my girls.
My girls and I are huge fan so the Ice Age franchise. I remember going to see the first one in the theater when I was younger, and now I take my daughters to see each new one as they come out. I was really excited to hear that Ice Age: The Great Egg-scapade was coming to DVD in time to be included in my daughters’ Easter Baskets! I just know they will be really happy to see that the Easter Bunny included a copy for them in their basket of treats. This is a short film (about 22 minutes) in the film franchise but still includes all your favorite characters! The DVD also includes a lot of bonus features that are fun for the whole family to watch.
My daughters love LEGOs. They love to build with them, to play with them, and of course, to watch the LEGO movies and TV shows. One of their favorites is LEGO: NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu. My 5 year old especially has taken to this series. My husband and I really enjoy watching it with her as well. It is filled with action and humor – and it a great show to watch all as a family. We were really excited to see season six coming out on DVD. We love to binge watch our shows and this is a great way to do it. Not to mention, my daughter likes to take the DVD in the car to watch during long drives. This DVD is packed full with 10 episodes for hours of LEGO fun!
My girls love Daniel Tiger. It is one of our favorite shows on PBS Kids. I am a huge fan as well because they learn so much from him! Not to mention the nostalgia for me (it is based off of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood). We were excited to learn that yet another new DVD featuring four grr-ific stories was hitting stores on March 14. In this new collection, Daniel rides a horse for the first time with encouragement from Dad Tiger, helps his sister Margaret feed adorable ducks, and plays “farm” with O the Owl. Viewers will have fun with Daniel Tiger as he learns how to help others, conquers his fears, and much more! We were lucky enough receive an advanced copy and watched it almost right away. This has some of our favorite episodes and was an instant hit with my girls – especially my 4 year old who just adores Daniel!
